The Wee Vegan Bakery aims to supply high quality vegan baked goods. We want our customers not to be able to taste the difference between our dairy/egg free goods and those with it. We carefully work with recipes to make sure we are achieving this and the feedback we have had has been outstanding.
We are passionate about realising our business goals while looking after our planet and minimising our carbon footprint. We are plastic free champions within Dunfermline and all our retail packing is recyclable!
We want to introduce the people behind the Wee Vegan Bakery!
Rebecca opened “Wee Vegan Bakery” in December 2020 from her home during lockdown while home schooling her 6 year old daughter and entertaining her twin 2 year old boys.
Rebecca first had the idea when she had been feeding her babies and had to stop her dairy intake. Every breast-feeding mum needs a ‘fine piece’ to keep them going and the dairy free options were limited.
Rebecca ran the bakery for 5 months doing collection only from her home and secured some wholesale customers.
The business was growing too fast to do alone and due to circumstances with a heavy heart Rebecca closed the doors.
Fast forward to December 2021 when, now business partner, Carol suggested they restart the bakery together.
Carol was been a previous customer of Rebecca’s, who missed the products (especially the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel donuts) and as someone who is passionate about sustainability, who is also working with a online health and wellness brand who’s products are vegan and cruelty free, their values clearly align.
In February 2022 the Wee Vegan Bakery & Cafe was born and now located at The Junket Cafe, 4 Loch St, Townhill, Dunfermline KY12 0HH. You can visit us for Tea, Coffee, fresh bakes and lunch!
